Also known for its great food and superb Caucasus Mountain views, Kakheti is home to a number of beautiful towns, including Gremi, once a mighty capital of the Kakheti Province and now with a beautiful museum with a picturesque church and bell tower, as well as Telavi, now the region's capital. Sighnaghi is one of the prettiest towns in Kakheti, with its cobbled streets running between shady squares and historic buildings, which is why it is known as the ‘City of Love’. Its position within the wine growing region of Kakheti made it an important stop along the Georgian Silk Road.
